Our General English courses run throughout the year. Students are required to take an entry level test in order to assess their level and must also fill out a needs analysis form to better tailor the lesson for their needs. Our English school in London develops all aspects of the English language including speaking, pronunciation, listening, grammar, reading and writing. The focus is on improving your ability to communicate clearly and effectively. All of our teachers are fully qualified for the teaching of English and all staff are DBS checked and trained to work with young learners. During your English course you will be expected to participate as much as possible and work individually, in pairs and in groups as well as taking part in whole class activities. Each week , you will be given homework and at the end of the week and will have opportunity to revise what you have learnt. Students can study quietly, do homework, read for pleasure or use one of our computers in the student lounge. There is free wi-fi through out the school and student lounge has a coffee machine and vending/snacks machine to save you time in your breaks. Although the school promotes speaking in English as much as possible we have multilingual staff available should you need to speak your native language. Speak Up London will provide the students with all the learning materials in class and it is also possible to rent or purchase the coursebook at the reception. To rent/purchase a coursebook will cost between £20 to £25 depending on the book. The school will be close for Christmas and Bank holidays so there will be no teaching in these days.
